X-Ray Generating Equipment
Some service providers consider annual maintenance to consist of making a few exposures, lubricating moving parts, checking connections, and other fairly simple tasks. The work we perform includes much more than a cursory look at your equipment and making a few checks. Our procedures call for this basic work but they also include several tests to verify the output of the x-ray equipment and a review of your administrative functions to determine if your practice is in compliance with various governmental regulations.Specifically some of the work we do during while performing x-ray preventative maintenance includes:
- Check for proper functioning of the collimator with respect to beam limitation, light field accuracy and source to image distance indicator accuracy
- Verification of radiation control devices such as timer accuracy, reproducibility of exposures, linearity of exposures, and kVp accuracy
- Review of administrative/facility documentation such as a technique chart, log of human holders, personnel monitoring records
